#My2018 – Esasina P. Kodjo

When Ozy of www.diaryofalagosgirl.wordpress.com asked me to join #MY2018STORY, I readily agreed because I wanted to inspire others with my journey.

2018 has been a year of many downs and ups.I had a lot of plans,thankfully majority of them were realised through sweat,tears,smiles and a lot of prayers.

God came through for me every single day,I mean it when I say every single day,even when it did not feel like it was a miracle.

1.I had my first speaking engagement.My friend,Nana Boatemaa organised the Wordsmith Conference 2018 at University of Ghana.I spoke on the topic “How to manage a budding blog” and even though I thought I was nervous,everyone was extremely happy with my presentation.I pray that in 2019,I will take up more healthy challenges.

2.I have been a hostess at a few international conferences for a particular international company.God put a burden on my heart last year to apply for National Service at this international company.I applied to that company and a few others,I did not get a reply from the other companies.The international company I had worked for finally accepted my application after 4 months of waiting.It’s easy to give up when God actually wants us to wait.I am currently working with this international company. I love it there and I am learning a lot.

3.I don’t know if you can all relate to my next  miracle.I have weighed 50kg since 2009! Like? Where does all the food I eat go? Mind you,I love to eat.

Two years ago,when I was in France,I weighed 55kg and wanted to maintain that weight but my weight kept reducing to 52 or 51kg.Since September,I decided to eat well and not skip breakfast.Guess what? Your girl weighs 54.5kg currently.It’s a miracle and I am thankful.

4.I love writing down my plans but staying consistent is a struggle for me.This year,I set 30 days aside to pray for my future husband and my marriage.I used a Prayer Guideline that was shared on a Whatsapp group I am a part of. The prayer guideline taught me to pray according to God’s original plan for marriage and my eyes were opened to prayer topics I had never thought of in my life.I made journal entries everyday to document this prayer journey.In God’s own time,I will hand it over to my future husband.                     Please send  an email to (sinakodjo.blog@gmail.com),if you are interested in having the pdf of the prayer challenge.

5. I had the honour of being my sister’s maid of honour and I did not slack guys.I am not your average maid of honour please 😂.I danced my heart out with barely any food in my stomach,the joy in my heart fuelled my dancing.By God’s grace,everything went well and everyone was happy.

6. I traveled around Ghana a lot more this year and God was my financier.I saved up to travel to a few places but guess what,God moved mountains and blew my mind.I traveled to more places than I had planned for.I did not pay a dime for some of my trips. I visited Prampram,Ada,Sogakope and Keta in a week and then I made a day’s trip to Cape Coast.

I went on an adventure with my work colleagues in December to Anum.For the first time I went hiking, abseiling and kayaking on the Volta Lake,it was scary but worth every second!

7.I took driving lessons after university people! I can now drive💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾. The driving school is on a Christmas break,I would have had my driving license before the year ended but it’s all good.

8.I helped plan my sister’s wedding in August,it was exhausting but fulfilling.I enjoyed making timelines,assigning tasks to her friends and our family,seizing her phone the night before her big day,calling vendors! It was really fun because I do wedding planning as a part-time job and I love it.

9.I hardly blog about my relationships with the opposite sex but something  happened this year.I had to let go of someone I liked this year  it was not a smooth season but God has been faithful.

10. In my final year at the university,I had to retake two of my courses and to God’s glory,I passed them both with distinction. If it was not for God,I really don’t know where I would be.

11.I was not going to graduate from the university because mysteriously my name was not on the graduation list.That was a serious test of my faith in God,I had to learn to trust God even when it all seemed impossible.God worked a miracle and my name was finally added to the graduation list.

“For still the vision awaits its appointed time;

it hastens to the end—it will not lie.

If it seems slow, wait for it;

it will surely come; it will not delay.”

Habakkuk 2:3

12. A few days to my Christmas leave,I noticed two reddish spots on my body and I was alarmed because I suspected it was Chicken Pox.I went to the hospital the night I saw the spots and the doctor confirmed my suspicion.He prescribed drugs for me and I was quarantined at home. Unfortunately I missed the end of year Christmas party at work.I prayed and asked God to heal me quickly because I wanted to enjoy my Christmas leave.

You know what Chicken Pox is like,right? You will feel feverish,lose your appetite,have a headache,run a temperature and definitely,you will itch. I did not go through any of these,I had less than 12 reddish spots on my body and as I speak,there is no trace of the Chicken Pox.I fully recovered in 3 days.

I serve a living God!

13.My friend asked me to join her to start a social initiative to educate,train and model young ladies into Godly young women.The Ewura Initiative started a few months ago and God has really blown our minds.I am thankful to God for bringing Godly friends my way and for this God-given assignment to be a blessing to adolescents in Ghana.

I thank God for my blog and for you who is reading this.

I am looking forward to being a more consistent blogger,traveling more,touching lives and trusting God every step of the way.

If there is one thing I learnt this year,

this scripture sums it up ;

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart,

    but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (PROVERBS 19:21)
